Breakfast of Hope

Breakfast of Hope

Formerly known as Breakfast at Cathedral of Hope (BACH), Breakfast of Hope is an ongoing program aimed at serving those in need. It is one of three of our Meals of Hope feeding programs together with Lunch of Hope and Dinner of Hope. Those experiencing homelessness or anyone that could benefit from a fresh, hot meal are welcomed each and every Saturday morning in the cafeteria of the Cathedral of Hope. Our volunteers cook and serve our guests for a sit-down breakfast, and we could use your help!

We can not continue this outreach without the generous financial and time committed support of our volunteers. With a gift of as little as $24 per month, we can continue to feed the hungry. Looking for a unique gift or way to mark an occasion like a birthday or an anniversary? Sponsor a Saturday for $500!

We typically aim to have 40 volunteers on any given week. Depending on which role you are able to assist us with, we may ask you to arrive as early as 5:00 a.m. for food preparation or a bit later for service volunteers.

Collectively every week, we will serve:

Meals of Hope: Breakfast
  • 400 hot meals
  • 720 eggs
  • 480 sausages
  • 570 pancakes
  • 200 cups of coffee
  • 12 gallons of milk
  • 6 gallons of orange juice
  • 3 gallons of syrup
  • 12 pounds of sugar
  • 4 pounds of creamer
  • 5 pounds of butter

In addition to the free breakfast, several services are provided that may be of assistance to our guests. Haircuts are frequently provided in the lobby and foyer of the church. Monthly basic physical exams are provided by a medical professional.

All positions require a background check, and some positions require a valid food handler’s certificate which we can help you to obtain in as little as 90 minutes. Please consider volunteering your time. Our volunteers are what keep this program running. If you are not in the Dallas area or are unable to volunteer, consider a donation to support this invaluable program for our community. We hope to see you soon!
