Breakfast at Cathedral of Hope (BACH) is an ongoing program aimed at serving those in need. Those experiencing homelessness or anyone that could benefit from a fresh, hot meal are welcomed each and every Saturday morning in the cafeteria of the Cathedral of Hope. Our volunteers cook and serve our guests for a sit-down breakfast, and we could use your help!
We typically aim to have 40 volunteers on any given week. Depending on which role you are able to assist us with, we may ask you to arrive as early as 5:00 a.m. for food preparation or a bit later for service volunteers.
Collectively every week, we will serve:
- 400 hot meals
- 720 eggs
- 480 sausages
- 570 pancakes
- 200 cups of coffee
- 12 gallons of milk
- 6 gallons of orange juice
- 3 gallons of syrup
- 12 pounds of sugar
- 4 pounds of creamer
- 5 pounds of butter
In addition to the free breakfast, several services are provided that may also be of assistance to our guests. Haircuts are frequently provided in the lobby and foyer of the church. Monthly basic physical exams are provided by a medical professional.
Dallas Hope Charities fulfills the outreach mission and the call for being aware of caring for those in need. Participation in our wide array of outreach opportunities is a great way to meet new people while uplifting the marginalized.
All positions require a background check, and some positions require a valid food handler’s certificate which we can help you to obtain in as little as 90 minutes. Please consider volunteering your time. Our volunteers are what keep this program running. If you are not in the Dallas area or are unable to volunteer, consider a donation to support this invaluable program for our community. We hope to see you soon!
